R.I.P.-Ride In Peace (T.Charry tribute)

19.07.2010

I've allready wrote about Thomas Charry once on my previous website but I finally found the way to get smth more "about him" from my broken laptop from over a year ago. My relationship with Thomas wasn't maybe big and long but since the beginning we've found out the same language as we say. He was a super cool guy, always funny and seemed super motivated for everything. He was a great photographer same as a skier.

I had only two chances to work with Thomas. As I spoke with Ben Burnett, Downdays.eu wanted to make an interview with me the same way they did with Marek Doniec a while ago. That's why the first thing we've planned was the park shoot in Mayrhofen, Austria because Thomas lived in Innsbruck the same as I did at that time.

Second time was at the Polish Freeskiing Open 2010 in Zakopane. But this time he wasn't able to send me the shots afterall and the last words I heared from him that day was "I got some nice shots of You, I think it will be a cool interview". I was super pumped to hear that and maybe more than a week after I tried to contact him via skype and e-mail's but nothing. As it turned out that day (8th of February 2010) Thomas was having a good time in the Nordpark (just above the Innsbruck) but even though we was well prepared and experienced big avalanche took his life then.

Today I was able to check what I had on the other harddrive from the other laptop and I found a couple of shots which Thomas took that day in Mayrhofen. I thought it would be a cool way to make a tribute to him.
